Safari 1
Lake Nakuru National Park - We left the Mully family this morning and drove for what seemed like forever to get here. We arrived in time for lunch which was wonderful and then met at the bus for what we thought was going to be a game drive in matatus, but for whatever reason they were not available. So we took the bus, our driver deserves a medal for putting up with us, grumbling and fussing but considering we had been on that very same bus for such a long time that day, I would say it was minimal. I was a chief grumbler..perhaps not many people heard me..but the Lord did and he chastened me about my attitude. My frustration, the bumpy ride and not being still enough to get the shots I wanted; may not have been the same as anyone elses but it was bad enough to get God's attention. We were reminded several times that since we were on the bus, we were much higher and could see so much more than the people in the matatus and I have to admit that was right and God reminded me that I should be thankful just to be there at all. And looking back at this time, I don't think about the bumps (my back does)..all I remember is the joy each time we spotted creatures we can see anytime at the zoo..IN their natural habitat..something we can't see anytime. Oh what joy and excitement over a water buffalo, zebra and the ohhs and ahhs over the babies. I did get some good shots (thank you David for turning the engine off) and I am enjoying reliving those few hours again and again.
