Thursday 10-22-09 - Tattered and torn but still beautiful.
Rode with my cousin Cathy to the Blue Ridge Mtns to an apple orchard where we had lunch and bought fall apples. Beautiful but exhausting, took my camera but never even took it out...that is sad...Had a wonderful fresh fried peach pie and brought some home to share.
We have finally had some good news..Lisa has been approved for Medicaid and her surgery to remove the setons is scheduled for Nov. 5th. They are going back to earlier this year and that helps tremendeously and we are just going to trust the Lord to take care of the other hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills that are out there.. This is the first time I have seen her actually feeling excited about the future. The doctor gives a good % rate of healing on one seton removal and the other is not quite so good but we are going to be positive and believe for complete healing. Of course we would appreciate your continued prayers for us both.

![Friday 11-6-09 - Home and Lisa is doing well. The doctor said the surgery went well and he was very pleased. The humira has done a good job of healing. Lisa is in a great deal of pain but otherwise doing great.<br />

Later update - Ha - I have been wanting to do this for ages. I finally looked up the word bokeh. It has only been 8 months and I have had a little big going on but when I saw Sunday's childs comment I just did it. I learned something today!! I have a great lens, I could not do this on purpose if my life depended on it.<br />

Bokeh is often most visible around small background highlights, such as specular reflections and light sources, which is why it often associated with such areas. However, bokeh is not limited to highlights, as blur occurs in all out-of-focus regions of the image.<br />

The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility.<br />

The English spelling bokeh was popularized in 1997 in Photo Techniques magazine, when Mike Johnston, the editor at the time, commissioned three papers on the topic for the March/April 1997 issue; he altered the spelling to suggest the correct pronunciation to English speakers, saying "it is properly pronounced with bo as in bone and ke as in Kenneth, with equal stress on either syllable". Bokeh replaced the previous spelling boke that had been in use at least since 1996, when Merklinger had also suggested "or Bokeh if you prefer.<br />
